Profile
Dr. Patrick Oduor Owoche is a Lecturer in the Department of Information Technology and the Coordinator of Linkages and International Affairs at Kibabii University. Holding a PhD in Information Technology, an MSc in Information Technology, and a Bachelor of Education in Science (Maths & Physics), his educational background is solidly rooted in Kenya's top institutions. Certified as an Information Communication Technologist, he started his teaching career at Kibabii University in 2015, after teaching stints in South Carolina, USA, and within Kenya's educational system.
Dr. Owoche's research interests are varied, including web and multimedia technologies, cloud application development, social media, and instructional design, particularly in enhancing educational outcomes through technology. He is a certified doctoral supervisor from Stellenbosch University, South Africa, and is known for his structured and insightful approach to research supervision, overseeing both Masters and PhD candidates.
Further, Dr. Owoche is a trained manager of internationalization from Leibniz University of Hannover, Germany, and a trained virtual exchange facilitator from the Stevens Initiative Virtual Exchange Academy in the USA. He adeptly incorporates international perspectives into his curriculum, promoting global understanding among students. His publications span several refereed journals, and he is an active participant in both national and international academic forums.
Dr. Owoche has served on several significant committees at Kibabii University, such as the Research Crack Team and the Ad-Hoc Committee on Digital Innovations for Business Resilience in the East African Community. His international engagements include roles as a visiting faculty and resource person in India, enhancing his global academic contributions and collaborations. A member of the International Federation for IT and Travel & Tourism (IFITT) and the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), his work is dedicated to advancing technology and education to foster educational and social progress.
